Research*

This is my third English class and one of several humanities courses I have taken. I have done quite a lot of research for my classes. I have certainly decided what I like and do not like when conducting research for a paper. My favorite type of research is personal interviews. My second favorite is posing questions to social media (not Twitter, but to friends, relatives, and acquaintances on Facebook). ProQuest and actual library books come in third. My least favorite research is Google, because you waste a lot of time weeding through the unreliable sources.
I prefer getting out and visiting comparative places like Best Buy versus Target versus Staples for purchases such as laptops and printers. Once I settle on something I like, I can access Amazon or Walmart.com to price compare.  Things like books are books so I find it more convenient to purchase them offline. If I am researching party themes, I will conduct my research on sites such as Pinterest, then go out and collect the items I need.
Regarding credibility, an example would be, I prefer to get my news from NPR (National Public Radio) to say, TMZ (see I do not even know what that stands for). I would watch ABC for election coverage rather than read it on rawstory.com. I would also agree with some of you that a well-done website with proper spelling and grammar, is very important in establishing what sources to use. I am not going to get a brochure from a travel agency to learn about the Louvre, I am going to use a credible museum or historical site such as National Geographic.
Sometimes I wish that we were back during the days of encyclopedias and library cards. The simpler the choices, the simpler the research!
